Monroe didn’t know why he’d taken the other country road. He just fancied the scenic route. He’d been visiting a cousin over in Boston. He’d driven of course he’d driven, he liked the open road, he liked the feeling of freedom driving along those long stretches of barely anything there road provided. Like he was living in one of those old road movies. Just him and his favourite bug.

Storybrooke, what a name. He thought as he drove along. He scoffed and shook his head, he was pretty tired maybe there was a bed and breakfast he could stay in. It was around 5 and he didn’t want to be driving all night. Monroe let out a long whistle as he headed into the town centre. That clock was beautiful, a real nice piece of work but it was broken. Maybe he could take a look.

Monroe pulled up outside a shop, all he was planning on doing was heading in getting the address and heading off to a B&B the sooner he could get home to normality the better. The wonder and amusement he’d felt had settled into an uneasy feeling that he couldn’t explain, something wasn’t right and the wolf in him was itching about something.

Henry didn’t even think as he pulled open the door of the yellow bug, there was only one yellow bug in town and that was his Emma’s. He jumped into the bug and his eyes suddenly went wide as he saw it wasn’t Emma sat in the drivers seat, no this was something different alltogether. The man looked at him for a moment and then his face changed, his eyes turned red, his teeth elongated his face shifted and he looked more like a wolf than human.

Monroe managed to pull himself back together, the kid just looked at him shocked, he’d definitely seen the wolf. ‘Crap.’ Monroe said outloud without meaning to.

‘You’re one of them,’ The kid said wide eyed, yet he didn’t seem scared, he seemed intrigued.

‘Woah kid, I dunno who you are but I think you should get out of the car.’ Monroe said rubbing the back of his head nervously.

‘You’re one of them! You can’t leave now your here, you could help me!’ Henry said, seeing an oppertunity. If Emma didn’t believe him after seeing this.

‘Hey dude, I don’t know what your talking about but maybe you should get out of my car. Didn’t your mom ever tell you not to talk to strangers.’ Monroe muttered. He’d already been falsely accused of abducting a little kid once this year he didn’t need another on his record. Monroe pondered for a moment about how he always managed to get himself into sticky situations. Bad luck just seemed to follow him around.

‘We don’t get strangers in Storybrooke.’ Henry said still watching him a little in awe seeming to examine his face.

‘Look, I don’t mean to be rude kid but you kind of need to get out of my car.’ Monroe said.

‘Can you do it at will? The wolf thing?’ Henry smiled ignoring Monroe’s argument for him to leave the car.

‘Look man I don’t know what you’re talking about…’ Monroe began.

‘Save it. I saw it.’ Henry replied holding a hand up.

Monroe let out a laugh, this kid was fiesty and he was cheeky. Monroe looked at him for a moment and Hnery simply beamed at him a grin on his face. Monroe sighed and shook his head again.

‘Come on dude gimmie a break. Get out of my car before someone thinks I’m kidnapping you.’ Monroe said pinching the bridge of his nose…

So yeah now apparently I’m crossing over Grimm/OUAT so shoot me =) BTW I’ve only seen like four episodes of OUAT because it’s only just started here in the UK. If I get anything wrong please let me know =)

‘What happened though. I mean how did you end up stuck?’ Monroe asked suddenly. They’d been sat talking for a while about Evelyn’s abilities.

‘It’s complicated.’ Evelyn said.

‘Not like we don’t have time.’ Monroe said over the top of his tea. Evelyn let out a laugh and Monroe watched her. She’d changed so much, she still had all the same characteristics she’d had when he first met her but there was more now. She was more confident, a little more fiesty.

‘You really want to know?’ She asked him. She put a hand on his arm as he drank and let out a contented sigh as she tasted the tea he was drinking. Monroe smiled at the noise she made. It had become a regular occurance for her to touch him lightly, occasionally when he was eating or drinking so she could get a taste.

‘Yeah, I mean come on you can’t not tell me, not if your sticking around.’ Monroe replied.

‘I’m not entirely sure what happened. I don’t remember. I think someone took a portion of my life away because after meeting you and going back to work in Cairo I can’t remember anything. I vaguely remember a woman putting her hands on me and some light. It’s almost like when there are voices in the next room but their muffled and you’re straining to hear. I know, in here.’ She gestured to her chest and Monroe nodded.
‘that I couldn’t go, not because I didn’t want to, I just couldn’t. Then on top of that everytime I try and think about it, it, well this.’ her eyes seemed to sparkle and a single tear rolled off her cheek. ‘I don’t even know why.’ Monroe watched her curiously. She was right this was more than complicated.
‘Sometimes I see certain objects too and they make me upset and of course there’s this.’ She pulled at a chain around her neck with a ring on it. Monroe reckoned if he wanted to he could probably find out about that ring. He probably knew people who knew people.
‘I remember a door too, well I say I remember I might not, it might be false. I’ve seen others go through their doors. I remember being stood in front of one. Trying to get through.’ She said a little lost in her own thoughts.
‘I could find out about that ring for you if you like.’ Monroe asked her putting his cup on the coffee table. Suddenly there was a banging at the door. ‘Oh what now.’ Monroe groaned. Evelyn smiled at him. She found it funny the way Monroe always groaned and grumbled but she knew how much he enjoyed helping Nick out with the Wesen world. They were friends, whether they’d actually said it or not, they were.
‘I can ignore it?’ Monroe said. Evelyn shook her head at the way he groaned.
‘Monroe come on I know you’re in there!’ Nick’s familiar voice drifted through the door and Evelyn laughed at Monroe who sighed in annoyance.
‘Don’t be like that you enjoy it. You like having someone to show off all your knowledge too. AND you get to do all the exciting stuff.’ Evelyn said. ‘Maybe I can tag along.’ Monroe gave her an odd look.
‘I do not need more excitement in my life.’ Monroe replied.
‘I do.’ Evelyn shot him a smile and he shook his head at her.
‘I don’t think it’s wise.’ Monroe began.
‘Ghost remember.’ Evelyn said. ‘Nick can’t see me, yet. Besides maybe I can help.’
‘Monroe, will you open up!’ Nick banged on the door again.
‘Ok, Ok don’t break my door down dude.’ He opened the door and Evelyn moved off the sofa to stand in the corner of the room.
‘I need your help.’ Nick said.’There’s this wesen looks like yoda or an imp or something.’ Nick said quickly.
‘Oh man sounds like you have a Grünen Kobold on your hands.’ Monroe said shaking his head and letting Nick in.

When Monroe was younger he suddenly took an interest in finding out how everything worked, he became very curious about just about everything at this time. One day he saw his father fiddling around inside the car and wondered just how it worked. Monroe watched his father for a moment intrigued as to what was under the hood, when his father went inside for a glass of water he decided to investigate.

Monroe’s father had warned him to stay away from the car but Monroe simply could not resist. He walked over to the car and began looking around inside, at first he was looking and not touching but curiosity got the better of him and just as his father returned Monroe leant deeper under the hood of the car and was suddenly thrown back as an electrical shock racked his body.

Monroe’s father ran to him in a panic and found his son not breathing, he immediately intiated CPR. When Monroe was breathing and concious again he pulled him close, relieved that his son was alive and almost well. Monroe’s father angrily told him off and scared Monroe from going near the inside of the car again. Monroe sulked off upset and with a now painful and burnt hand. The curly mop of hair on his head now stood on end, making him look frazzled.

After he had calmed down Monroe’s father returned to the kitchen.

‘Sorry Dad.’ Monroe said quietly as his father grabbed himself a glass of water.

Monroe’s father sighed and turned to face him.

‘I know you’re just curious son but you have to wait and ask me. If you want to know how something works you know I’m more than happy to show you.’ He said.

‘I know dad but when I just wanted to see how…’ Monroe began.

‘Paitience is a virtue son. Next time wait for me, or you’ll end up toast again and nobody wants that.’ He smiled and ruffled his hair playfully.

‘And what exactly is going on here?’ Monroe’s mother asked spying his appearance and the burn on his hand.

‘Monroe has discovered he apparently has an interest in cars.’ His father replied. Shooting his son a wink and a smirk.

Monroe’s Family Moments - Monroe’s obsession with how things work lands him in danger.

Should we even be in here?’ Evelyn hissed at Monroe.

Nick doesn’t mind, or at least he said he didn’t.’ Monroe replied. Monroe was a little more then intrigued by the notion of ghosts. He’d never encountered one before, or maybe he had and he’d never noticed. He’d asked Nick if he could have a look at some of the books in the trailer and Nick had simply agreed. Monroe thought he was still a little naiive to just trust him going in there, even if Monroe knew he wasn’t going to destroy anything he would have thought Nick would have been a little more cautious.

‘Here’s something. After hearing about the attacks up at the mansion my studies led me to meeting Farey Evergreen, who appeared shocked that I could see him. I discovered the exisitence of ghosts is a very real one. We are unsure of just what enables one to be able to see ghosts. Whether it be a near death experience or something more. This is an area that needs further investigation, after my talks with Farey Evergreen though it is apparent that ghosts can in some form or another still taste and when poltergiests, touch. We have both speculated that it is more then likely that a human could have a somewhat realtionship with a ghost as ghosts can somewhat….’ Monroe trailed off and Evelyn turned to look at him.

‘Well, you, um, you get the picture.’ He scratched the back of his head.

‘I know all this though.’ Evelyn said.

‘You do?’ Monroe replied raising an eyebrow at her.

‘Well, most of it.’ Evelyn added leaving Monroe to wonder exactly what she’d been up to in her time as a ghost.

‘I thought you couldn’t fight!’ Monroe yelled at her.

So did!’ Evelyn replied with a grin. She looked at him for a moment before they both pushed themselves off the floor, they weren’t going down without a fight.

‘I’m, well, I mean I’m not sure I entirely understand. You can’t be, I mean you should be….’ Monroe said confused, he shook his head several times.

‘I’m a ghost yes.’ Evelyn said looking around the living room and smiling. Monroe’s house was like a museum, every clock was a clock Evelyn had seen over the decades and she knew most of them weren’t replicas.

‘A ghost? But how can I see you? I don’t understand!’ Monroe said even more confused, he watched her, fingers tracing the delicate designs on some of his clocks. He didn’t mind though, he didn’t mind her touching them because he knew she had this appreciation for them. A wonderment that meant she wasn’t going to crush them.

‘Yes.’ Evelyn nodded and she smiled at him.’Am I to understand that your,’ she paused searching for the right words. ‘current condition is due to your special heritage?’ her fingers moved over the bookcase like she chresished the feel of every single one.

‘Yeah, um it’s a Blutbad thing.’ Monroe said scratching the back of his head awkwardly.’Do you want a drink, or a biscuit or something?’ he asked.

Evelyn looked up at him and giggled, Monroe realising his mistake let out a low chuckle. How could she eat and drink? She was a ghost. A ghost. Monroe couldn’t get his head around it.

‘I can somewhat taste though other people, something I learnt entirely by accident.’ she smiled.

‘What are you doing here?’ Monroe asked her. It came out a little harsh as he poured himself some tea and she routed around in his kitchen.

‘Oh, well, erm, I don’t know. I was hoping that, well this is a little awkward. I am a ghost but, well and I wasn’t even sure you’d be able to see me but…’ Evelyn babbled pacing backwards and forwards,

‘Why don’t you stay here for a while.’ Monroe blurted out over his tea. ‘I mean if you want to.’

‘Do you really mean that?’ Evelyn said wide eyed, beaming like she couldn’t believe her luck.

‘Welll, I mean, only if you want to, if you’ve nothing better…’

‘I’d love to.’ Evelyn cut him off accidentally. She put a hand on his arm and Monroe could feel it, he could feel the pressure where her hand was and he wondered if Evelyn could do anything else like a real human.

‘Peppermint and Lemon tea, good choice.’ She said.

Auriella always thought Monroe was too soft. After witnessing her older brother and sister taunting him for years she always believed he wasn’t really tough enough to be a Blutbad. She’d never seen him hunt or kill before and had only heard about it.

One night while their parents were away Ronnie took some strange drugs and ended up having a bad trip in the middle of the woods. On hearing their younger brother howling in pain, Auriella saw a change in Monroe, he immediately became fiercer than she’d ever seen him. It didn’t take them long to find Ronnie but Monroe was calm and collected when he dealt with him while Auriella panicked. This was the moment Auriella gained a respect for her brother she’d never had before and she realised that being a Blutbad, didn’t mean being a hard mean ass bitch all the time.

Monroe’s family moments: Auriella gains respect for her brother….

I’m going to do profiles somewhat for these characters soon. There’s a reason the other two siblings aren’t getting as much attention and that’s because they sort of broke out on their own. This is of course all  in my head so yeah….

Monroe’s father had a talent when it came to singing. He enjoyed music a lot but preferred listening to classical music, music without words. Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t any good with instruments. Because of this he tried to encourage his children to take up at least some form of music.
Only two of his children listened to him, his eldest Henry who learnt and enjoyed playing the Piano and Monroe who took up the Cello. Monroe’s mother thought they could have been doing something better with their time but she never missed a recital and still enjoyed listening.
On their 50th anniversary, Regulus, knowing his wife as he did. Picked out her favourite song and asked Monroe and Henry to play as he sang to his wife.
Minerva batted Regulus away and told him to stop. Usually a hard woman, with a fierce reputation she was a little embarrassed by the fuss. She protested and laughed with their friends but inside she was crying with happiness and wanting nothing more then to pull her sons into a grateful, loving hug and kiss her husband fiercely.

Monroe’s Family Moments: The One where he helps his Dad out…

As it approached their anniversary Monroe’s mother was feeling more and more out of sorts. Her looks had never really bothered her until out on a hunt. Regulus started chasing a young and rather pretty Fuchsbau girl with great enthusiasm. Monroe’s mother suddenly began criticising herself deeply.

One night before their anniversary it all came out when she broke down in tears. Monroe’s father told her she was being stupid but that he would gladly give up the hunt any day of the week for her. He told her that he had just been trying to impress her and show he wasn’t too old to hunt something young.

Monroe’s Family Moments: The one time Monroe’s mom felt insecure…

I know it’s not strictly Monroe in this but yeah…

00lovegood:

The first time Monroe’s dad takes him hunting. Monroe comes running out of the house and up to his father with a large backpack on his shoulders and a book in his hands. Monroe has been bugging his dad to take him hunting for a while now and Monroe’s father agree’s to show him how Blutbaden hunt.

Monroe’s father shakes his head at his son and tries to explain to him that he won’t be needing the backpack or the book, because they won’t be doing much reading. His father wonders if Monroe is really ready to see the hunt and so to the dismay of his mother allows his son to bring along the book.

Monroe’s father shows him several things when hunting, he tries to explain to him how catching the scent works. About the rush that comes with the Blutbad form because, Monroe hasn’t wolfed out yet. They spy a bear in distance and Monroe’s father decides to put on a show for his son. They crouch low in the bushes waiting for a moment before he will give chase. Monroe stands up a little watching the bear and hissing questions at his father until an Ogre crosses the bears path and begins to tear it apart. Monroe’s father realises they must retreat to safety and takes his son to set up camp miles away from where the Ogre has eaten.

Monroe’s family moments: In which Monroe’s dad tries to teach him about hunting and their path is crossed by an ogre.
